A special thank you to all the vendors who participated in our 2025 summer markets and to all those who visited the market and supported the vendors. It was wonderful spend time with folks on Sunday mornings.
Johnstown Landing provides public access to the Bras d”Or Lake with a spectacular view of Sacred Heart Church, Lady of Guadeloupe shrine and the surrounding hills as well as the striking views across the water.
The Artisan & Farmers Outdoor Market is held on Johnstown Landing each Sunday morning from the end of June to early September.
Five kilometers of non-motorized trails through the stunning, reclaimed Irish Cove Limestone Quarry. The trail entrance is located at the end of Lake Shore Drive in Irish Cove.
Johnstown Community Development Co-operative Ltd. (JCDC) was established to carry on, on a co-operative basis, a non-profit community development co-operative in Johnstown providing tourist facilities, residential facilities, and other services to support increased employment and development of the area. JCDC was founded in 1988 with the intention of retaining the former Johnstown school property as a community resource with potential for community economic development. Over the years a number of ventures operated within the building (since removed) and on the property. In 2017 we launched Johnstown Landing, becoming a part of the Trans Canada Trail’s water route. In 2018 we formed the Johnstown Trail Committee to explore the feasibility of developing local walking trails. We continue to be open to other possibilities and potential projects for our area. A membership in JCDC enables individuals to participate in the decisions regarding the operation of the co-operative and the JCDC property; to sit on the Board of Directors; and to serve on committees.
